The next generation of process automation

With a new process editor, 'Marketplace' for interfaces, full cloud enablement, customizable dashboard, intuitive user interface and integration of Microsoft Teams, the tenth generation of Axon Ivy’s process automation solution promises to push the boundaries when it comes to scalability and user friendliness.

Version 10 of the Axon Ivy platform contains some fundamental innovations both in the design environment for developers and in the end user portal. The process editor – which is used by business analysts and process managers to design their processes – has been completely revamped both visually and structurally. The “Marketplace” for system interfaces is a new addition, allowing companies to easily and seamlessly integrate various IT systems from third-party providers. To do this, users have predefined interfaces – known as “connectors” – at their disposal. These can also be created independently and made available to the community.

'Our new Marketplace allows users to quickly and easily develop connectors themselves. These can be used again in other projects across the entire range of processes, which paves the way for huge economies of scale,' explains Andreas Balsiger, Head of Product Management at Axon Ivy.

The architecture of the Axon Ivy platform has now been completely optimized for cloud operation. 'Demands in terms of scalability and the high availability of software products are constantly increasing, and not only at major clients. As a result, it must be possible to operate systems in the cloud dynamically and in a resource-efficient way,' emphasizes Balsiger. Version 10 also includes improved testing, which will help companies address the rapid changes to processes in the digital age while also ensuring the integrity of business processes.

Intuitive operation for a positive customer experience

The portal has also been optimized to make things as easy as possible for the end user, with an attractive, redesigned interface and even more intuitive operation. Moreover, users can also decide for themselves how their interface should look by customizing their dashboard. For example, upcoming tasks can be divided up into different lists in order to sort them according to areas or priorities. Thanks to the integration of Teams, users can also access the Axon Ivy portal via the Microsoft platform.

'No tool is able to solve all problems, which means different technologies have to be organized and synchronized with each other. As a result, the role of the process automation platform as an orchestrator will become increasingly important,' comments Balsiger. 'With version 10, we have laid the foundations for an Axon Ivy platform featuring fully integrated additional technologies, with everything coming from a single source.'
