Axon Ivy Joins The Ricoh Group
Leading Swiss Digital Process Automation Specialist Axon Ivy AG Announces Acquisition by the Ricoh Group
With over two decades of experience in building digital transformation platforms and solutions, Axon Ivy has established a strong industry reputation and a loyal customer base. To better address the growing global demand for digital transformation, Axon Ivy sought a partner with extensive reach and scale. After a thorough search and evaluation, Axon Ivy chose to become part of the Ricoh Group, a global leader in business process transformation and information management technology.
Axon Ivy will continue to operate as an independent subsidiary of the Ricoh Group, retaining its staff, brand, products, and partners. Customers and partners will benefit from increased investments in Axon Ivy's technology, delivery capabilities, and market development. Additionally, they will have access to Ricoh’s global reach and comprehensive portfolio of digital services, designed to provide a seamless digital workplace experience that fosters innovation, enhances security, and promotes sustainability through technology.
Rolf Gebhard Stephan, CEO of Axon Ivy AG, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I see tremendous value in becoming part of the Ricoh global family. We have built one of the most reliable and easy-to-use digital process automation platforms and have a very successful track record in Central Europe. While we will retain our core strengths in technology and agility, we will benefit from Ricoh’s access to major markets worldwide. My team and I look forward to the prospect of Axon Ivy becoming a global leader in the digital automation space.”
Headquartered in Tokyo, the Ricoh Group operates globally, with products and services reaching customers in approximately 200 countries and regions. In the fiscal year ending March 2021, Ricoh Group reported worldwide sales of 1,682 billion yen (approximately 15.1 billion USD). Following the acquisition of Axon Ivy and its industry-recognized digital process automation platform, Ricoh customers worldwide will gain access to a powerful process automation and orchestration platform with low-code/no-code support. They will also benefit from shared software development innovations and accelerated digital transformation journeys.
Akira Oyama, Executive Corporate Officer and President of Ricoh Digital Services Business Unit, emphasized,“This acquisition is part of Ricoh’s strategic investment in the growth of our Digital Services business. It enhances Ricoh’s capabilities to further support customers around the world with their digital transformation needs as well as Ricoh’s market position as a digital services company. Axon Ivy has a trusted reputation as a true digital enabler, recognized by customers, peers, and industry analysts alike. Ricoh is delighted to welcome them to our family.”
David Mills, CEO, Ricoh Europe, added: “We are tremendously excited about the opportunities this acquisition affords both Ricoh and our customers. From our own transformation journey as a global business services organization with exceptional expertise in document process management, we recognized that many organizations still struggle with complex technology infrastructures and requirements for further automation beyond just ‘paper to digital’. This acquisition addresses just that business challenge – we continue to see a growing demand for software that isn’t constrained to just print or documents. This trend, coupled with our customers’ ambitions to advance their digital journeys quickly, makes this a particularly exciting time in the history of Axon Ivy and Ricoh."
